Grand Teton has been on my bucket list for an elopement since I first visited in 2018. So when it came time for my best friend Dana and I to plan our next photography retreat – we realized we both had the same idea of hosting one in the area.

While some may think that styled shoots are tricking couples when it comes to marketing – I strongly disagree. What better way to get to know an area, learn how to properly plan something there, and have the time to find epic locations than with a styled shoot? This time around, we had the challenge of multiple weather/natural disasters happening just days before our shoots closing many roads for the foreseeable future. Though truthfully, I feel that it was a blessing in disguise because we happened across this insanely magical spot for Gayle x Joe’s magical elopement shoot. The spot was perfect for multiple reasons as well. There was no hike required, the drive to it was easy, and there were plenty of trails around so we could follow Leave No Trace principals.

The way the light poured in behind us as we were overlooking the majestic Grand Teton National Park from the west side was insane. The setting was nothing short of magical, with the alpenglow casting a warm, golden hue over the towering peaks, creating a truly enchanting backdrop for the occasion. As the sun began its descent, the landscape was bathed in a soft, ethereal light, setting the stage for an intimate and romantic ceremony. The colors of the sunset painted the sky in a breathtaking display, casting a warm, golden glow over the couple as they shared quiet, tender moments amidst the grandeur of the mountains. Despite it being a styled shoot, the entire experience was a celebration of love and the beauty of nature, and I felt honored to be able to preserve these moments for the couple.

Capturing their love at sunset overlooking Grand Teton was an experience that will stay with me forever. The natural beauty of the setting combined with the couple’s love and connection resulted in a collection of images that truly encapsulate the magic of the day. It was a reminder of the profound beauty of love and the stunning landscapes that our world has to offer.
