Some sessions just feel like spending the afternoon with old friends — and that’s exactly how it felt capturing Kat and Josef’s engagement session. On a perfectly gloomy Sunday in Franklin, Tennessee, we set out to celebrate their love story in the coziest way possible.
We kicked things off at Gray’s on Main, where Kat and Josef shared a drink together. The warm ambiance, flickering candlelight, and rich wood tones made the perfect backdrop for some sweet, intimate moments. They laughed, clinked glasses, and soaked in the quiet charm of the space — and I couldn’t help but smile behind the camera.
From there, we wandered the streets of Franklin, weaving through its charming storefronts and cobblestone sidewalks. The overcast sky gave everything this beautifully moody feel — the kind that makes you want to grab a warm drink and pull your favorite people close.
I shot the day with a mix of digital and film, which felt like the perfect way to capture both timeless and spontaneous moments. There’s something about film that adds this extra layer of nostalgia — like each frame holds a little piece of magic.
What made this session so special wasn’t just the stunning scenery or the cozy weather — it was them. Kat and Josef are the kind of couple that makes you feel instantly welcome. We laughed, swapped stories, and honestly just had the best time exploring together. It felt less like “posing for photos” and more like a perfect afternoon hanging out with friends.
I couldn’t be more excited for their wedding next year at Scarritt Bennett in Nashville — if this session was any indication, it’s going to be an absolutely unforgettable day.
Kat & Josef, thank you for letting me capture this sweet season of your lives. I can’t wait to celebrate with you both next year! ❤️
