The Big Sur coast is easily the most gorgeous section of the California coastline. Stunning rocky cliffs, crystal blue waters, tall Redwood trees, gorgeous beaches, picturesque views, and a windy road right along the coast. Truly, what more could you ask for?!

It’s not surprising that it makes for one of the most stunning coastal backdrops for a wedding. While it’s an insane destination for elopements, it’s understandable that not everyone wants to elope. Some couples want a venue to host their wedding at, which is where Alila Ventana Big Sur comes into play.

I’m fully aware that this is about to sound like a sales pitch (lol) but I promise it’s not! I’ve honestly never been to a resort that is as amazing as Ventana Big Sur (I even got to try it out for the night – WOW!). Ventana is an all-inclusive, couples-only resort that has everything you could ever dream of. Amazing suites (with gorgeous views and some even have private hot tubs!), gorgeous views, hiking trails (with Redwoods!), amazing restaurant experiences, top-notch room service, spas, pools, and daily excursions. It’s dog-friendly (we love it) and the resort has amazing green initiatives. Talk about a wedding and honeymoon in one!

It’s no surprise that Victoria and Yuri chose this location in Big Sur for their modern micro wedding. They started the day off, getting ready in their suite together then headed out to the Sur Vista overlook to say their vows alone. We then roamed around Ventana a big for a few more portraits before they ended their day with a private after-party for their closest friends and family (so private they didn’t even have a photographer there for it!).
