This past Thanksgiving Eve, I had the honor of photographing Taylor and Jake’s absolutely stunning modern Jewish wedding at The Palomar in Cincinnati, Ohio. The couple’s celebration was the perfect mix of tradition and contemporary style, with a black-and-white color palette that played beautifully against the unique backdrop of the venue.

The Palomar, a classic event space in East Walnut Hills, offered a modern yet elegant atmosphere for Taylor and Jake’s wedding day. A beautifully renovated old church that had been transformed into a gorgeous wedding space. The church’s original checkered black-and-white aisle provided the perfect foundation for Taylor and Jake’s vision, with their carefully curated black and white details enhancing the space’s dramatic and elegant charm.

Before the ceremony, we visited downtown Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine (OTR) neighborhood for their portraits. With its unique blend of old-world charm and urban flair, OTR provided the perfect backdrop for Tylor and Jake’s photos. We took a few pictures in Abigail Street and finished their portraits on the street with the beautiful OTR building behind them.

One of the unique elements of their wedding was the way they set up their ceremony. Instead of the traditional transition between ceremony and reception spaces, Taylor and Jake opted to have all of their guests seated at their reception tables for the ceremony itself. This setup allowed for a seamless flow, with no need for a changeover during cocktail hour. It gave the ceremony an intimate, relaxed feel, with everyone already settled in and ready to celebrate, making it all the more special and personal.

As the couple walked down the aisle, there was an unmistakable sense of tradition and joy. Their Jewish ceremony was filled with meaningful moments, from the stunning chuppah to the symbolic breaking of the glass, creating a beautiful blend of customs and love. The contrast of the church’s historic architecture with the sleek, modern wedding elements made for a truly unforgettable atmosphere.

During the reception, Taylor and Jake added a fun and unique touch with a late-night dessert truck—Nola’s Funnel Cakes—which delighted guests with delicious sweet treats to keep the party going. To further elevate the celebration, they also introduced a Cannabis Bar called Benny the Cannabus, from Nashville, TN (shoutout to my husband, haha!). It was the perfect way to add some fun and personality to the evening, giving guests a memorable and unique experience that they’re sure to talk about for years to come.

I was fortunate enough to have photographed Taylor and Jake’s engagement session earlier this past spring in Malibu, California, where they used to live before returning to Cincinnati. We captured their love amidst the stunning coastal scenery, with the Pacific Ocean and the golden California light setting the perfect stage for their engagement portraits. It was clear even then how perfectly they complemented each other, and it was such a joy to see their love come full circle at their wedding.

The entire day was an absolute dream—filled with laughter, love, and countless memorable moments. It was clear how much Taylor and Jake truly enjoyed each other’s company and how much their family and friends adored them. Their wedding was a celebration of not just their love, but also their unique blend of tradition, style, and modern sophistication.

Taylor and Jake, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these beautiful moments of your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure!

This addition highlights the fun and personalized elements of the reception, making it even more memorable! Let me know if you’d like any further edits.
