Some moments in life are so special, they deserve to be captured more than once. Recently, I had the incredible honor of photographing a dear couple, friends of mine, in a unique and intimate post-wedding portrait session on a late summer evening in Franklin, Tennessee. The golden hour set the perfect tone for the session, filling the air with a nostalgic warmth that reflected the love between these two.

A Personal Touch: The Bride’s Vintage Dress and Handmade Bouquet

Mo, the bride, being a talented florist herself, crafted her own stunning bouquet. Paired with her vintage wedding dress, the look was nothing short of timeless. The flowing fabric of the gown perfectly complemented the beauty of her bouquet, making every moment feel like a scene from a classic love story.

Capturing Their Story: A Documentary Approach

For these photos, like most , I took a step back to allow them to simply be in the moment. With a documentary approach it let Mo and Jakes’ connection unfold naturally in front of the camera. As they embraced, laughed, and whispered to one another, I was able to capture the quiet romance and deep bond they share. The slow, unhurried pace of the evening added to the intimate feel of the photos, allowing them to enjoy the experience without any pressure.

A Love Story Beyond the Wedding Day

While many couples focus on capturing their love on the wedding day itself, there’s something so special about taking time after the celebration to revisit those emotions. This session wasn’t about the rush or the excitement of the wedding day—it was about savoring the quieter, deeper moments that follow. It was an opportunity to reflect on the journey they’ve started together, in an atmosphere that was both romantic and serene.

Photographing Mo and Jake, was not only a privilege but a reminder of why I love doing what I do. Being able to tell their story in a way that felt true to who they are as a couple was incredibly rewarding, and their reaction to the photos made it all the more meaningful. This session was a beautiful testament to the power of love, connection, and the timeless nature of photography.

If you’re considering a post-wedding portrait session, I would love to help you create something just as personal and meaningful. There’s something truly special about taking a moment to slow down, savor the love you share, and create lasting memories—long after the wedding day has come and gone.

I would be honored to capture your unique love story, too — let’s connect and create something beautiful together!
